The Arizona Cardinals have needs that should keep them active in free agency this offseason, even though there is not much cap room at the moment.

When the time comes around a month from now, there are several free agents that Arizona could or should look further into.

Who are potential targets?

Let’s start with Roy Robertson-Harris, who has played four seasons for the Chicago Bears.

Robertson-Harris did play a role in the defensive line rotation for a very good Bears defense the past few years. Though not listed on their current depth chart because he ended the season on injured reserve with a should injury, he  played DE, NT and DT spots for them (he is listed as a DE). He would seem to be a good fit, having played in a 3-4 defense as a Bear.

One value that Robertson-Harris would bring is his height. In that sense, he is like former Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell. Campbell is 6-foot-8, while Robertson-Harris is listed at 6-foot-5. He could potentially knock down a few passes.

Robertson-Harris brings energy to the field. In this highlight video, one thing that seems to stand out is how he never gives up on a play:

Robertson-Harris doesn’t have the sparkling sack numbers, having o only seven in four seasons, but Arizona’s front three don’t usually wrap up a lot of sacks. It usually falls on Chandler Jones or other outside linebackers it seems. However, it does appear that the former UTEP defensive lineman does have some pass-rushing juice to bring to the table.

And finally, and maybe most importantly, he could be had for a relatively lower money deal. He’s coming off a season with an injury, so he might be willing to sign a one-year “prove-it” deal that Cardinals general manager Steve Keim loves to hand out.

The last former Bears defensive lineman the Cardinals acquired was Jonathan Bullard in 2019. He had his season limited to injury but had one of his most productive seasons as a pro in the nine games he played.

What are your thoughts on Roy Robertson-Harris as a potential target  for the Cardinals?
