The Wisconsin football class of 2021 family got a little bigger this afternoon. After all 21 commits signed on early signing day, the Badgers have added depth at DE in the form of a preferred walk-on.
Wisconsin landed a commitment from Minnesota high school product Garrison Solliday, who comes to UW by way of St. Thomas Academy. Solliday announced his commitment on Twitter this afternoon:
Excited to announce my commitment to further my education and athletic career at the University of Wisconsin! Thank you to my coaches, family, friends and everyone who helped me get here.❤️🤍 #Badgers #wiscon21n @CoachBostadUW @tmehlhaff10 @CoachKhalif @CoachDanOB pic.twitter.com/oXpiDsnmE0

The 6-foot 220-pound DE is listed as running a pacy 4.6 40-yard dash and has played primarily as a middle linebacker according to NCSAsports.org.
He is someone who has put in the work and finally achieved a lifelong dream. Here is Solliday in his own words from his personal statement on NCSA sports’ website:
“For many years I have had the goal of playing collegiate football at the division 1 level. My goal would be to play as a linebacker but I understand putting team goals before myself, as I have played defensive line and other positions for the last two years. I am undoubtably a hard worker on the field as well as off the field in my studies and work habits.”
The Badgers sound like they are landing a player who is ready to do whatever it takes to help this team win games.
