WATCH: Leonard Fournette accomplishes rare feat in Super Bowl LV

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers jumped out to a 21-6 lead in Super Bowl LV behind the arm of Tom Brady.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers jumped out to a 21-6 lead in Super Bowl LV behind the arm of Tom Brady. Brady passed for three touchdowns in the first half, two to former New England teammate Rob Gronkowski.

After Kansas City opened the second half with a field goal to cut the lead to 12 points, Brady and Tampa Bay went back to work.

This time, it was the running game and former LSU star Leonard Fournette.

The former Tiger running back scored from 27 yards out early in the third quarter to give the Buccaneers a 28-9 lead.

Fournette’s touchdown was his fourth of the postseason. However, it was the fourth straight game in which Fournette scored a postseason touchdown. That puts him in rare company.

It’s been quite the postseason for Fournette, who was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars in August and signed by the Buccaneers.

While he played mostly a backup role in the regular season, Fournette ascended into the starting lineup after an injury to Ronald Jones in Tampa Bay’s win over Washington in the wild-card round.

Entering the Super Bowl, Fournette had rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Fournette also had 14 receptions and a touchdown in Tampa Bay’s three previous playoff games.

In Super Bowl LV, Fournette has rushed for 70 yards and a score while also catching four passes for 46 yards through three quarters.
