Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid had himself another terrific night on Saturday as went off for 33 points and nine rebounds to help the Sixers beat the Brooklyn Nets 124-108. He was efficient once again shooting 10-for-21 from the floor and made 12 free throws out of 14.
However, there was one blemish on an overall great night for him.
That would be his 3-point shooting as he shot just 1-for-7 from deep in the win. Embiid is shooting the 3-pointer very nicely this season as he is shooting 39.0% from deep even after the 1-for-7 performance.
“I was wide open,” said Embiid after the win. “Like I always say, can’t get too high can’t get too low. I’ve been making everything. I still like I made everything and then from the 3-point range, all of them I felt them as soon as I shot it. It felt good, it just didn’t go in.”
Basketball can be a make or miss game at times and there will be nights when the ball just does not want to go in for anybody, but considering how dominant of a night he had, it seemed like he should have abandoned the 3-point shot.
However, he has been very good from deep on the season so one tough night is not going to deter him from taking those shots.
“Like I say can’t get too high, can’t go too low,” Embiid finished. “Sometimes it’s gonna go and sometimes it’s not gonna go in, but if they’re gonna leave me open, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t shoot it. So, yes, I’m gonna keep on doing it.”
The Sixers will now hit the road on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings to begin a west coast road trip.
