While Indianapolis Colts legendary quarterback Peyton Manning was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, wide receiver Reggie Wayne wasn’t as fortunate.
Despite being a finalist for the second year in a row and as many times as he’s been on the ballot, Wayne was looked over by the voting committee, who instead went with former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

Wayne will get in most likely sooner rather than later. His resume speaks for itself. His 1,070 career receptions are more than 13 wide receivers already in the Hall of Fame. His 14,345 receiving yards are more than 14 wide receivers already in the Hall of Fame. Those numbers are both 10th all-time among wide receivers in NFL history. Wayne was a six-time Pro Bowler and was a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2010
Wayne’s time will come but for 2021, the Colts will enjoy watching Manning and former running back Edgerrin James get officially enshrined into Canton this fall.
