Former Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb led the NFL from the slot

Just another accolade for former Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. He led the NFL in catches of 20 or more yards in 2020.

This past season in the NFL, CeeDee Lamb was one of the top names to watch. He went from a four-star recruit out of Richmond, TX, to a five-star player for the Oklahoma Sooners. In three seasons in Norman, Lamb hauled in 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 receiving touchdowns. He would add one more on the ground in his junior season.

Given his explosiveness and big-play ability in Lincoln Riley’s offense, it was shocking to see him slide out of the top 15 in the NFL draft. The Dallas Cowboys were able to cash in when they came on the clock with the No. 17 pick in the NFL draft. It didn’t take long for the team to announce they would be selecting CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb had ample opportunities with the Cowboys this past season from the slot. With Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper playing a large majority of their time outside, Lamb was able to terrorize defenses across the middle. In fact he did so quite frequently. He was also the best receiver in receptions of 20+ yards from the slot.

Fellow rookie Justin Jefferson joined him in the top three, but Lamb was the best of the bunch. Going into 2021, Lamb is going to be on the radar for a huge season. His rookie campaign was huge but it feels like we have only scratched the surface of what he can be as a professional.
