Todd Bowles was one of the final assistant coaches to interview for the Eagles head coaching vacancy that was eventually filled by Colts offensive coordinator, Nick Sirianni.
Bowles was one of the first names mentioned in the process, but his schedule and the Buccaneers team success prevented an actual interview from happening until later in the process.
By the time the NFL granted the Eagles and other teams a chance to interview Bowles, Eric Bieniemy, and the other coaches involved in the playoffs, the Buccaneers defensive coordinator was only able to land a virtual interview.
During his Super Bowl week media session on Monday, Bowles was asked about the interview process and whether he received a fair opportunity from Jeffrey Lurie.

Bowles spent four seasons as the Jets’ head coach before getting fired with a 24-40 record, but he’s landed in Tampa Bay and helped the Buccaneers achieve post-season success.
Asked about his time in New York and whether that played a part in getting passed over for another head coaching job, Bowles stated that he was a good coach and that “you just keep marching forward” in the face of those who feel otherwise.
