It is mock draft season, which means several experts have predicted who the New England Patriots will pick in April’s draft. Friday, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com made his mock draft, and had the Patriots selecting a linebacker with the 15th overall pick.
Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was the selection. Parsons would undoubtedly sure up the linebacker position for New England.
Parsons opted out of the 2020 college football season, but has two seasons of impressive work on his resume. He recorded 109 tackles in 2019, as well as four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. In addition, he proved to be very apt at rushing the passer, recording five sacks on the season.
Parsons first burst onto the scene in 2018. That year, he recorded 82 tackles and a sack and a half. He would be able to give a jolt to the New England linebacker position.
As Jeremiah explains, Parsons would give New England a versatile playmaker.
Parsons is an explosive, versatile playmaker, and the Patriots need to get faster on defense.
The linebacker position could be one that the Patriots address in the upcoming draft. With so many needs, New England will certainly have to make the most of each selection.
