Three former University of Tennessee basketball players were in action in the NBA Friday night.
Two of those players saw their team suffer losses, while Tobias Harris and the Philadelphia 76ers found their way into the win column. The Sixers now have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 14-6.
Harris started and played 34 minutes in Philadelphia’s, 118-94, victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Harris had a double-double as he scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. He was 6-for-17 from the floor and 2-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc. The former Vol was 3-for-4 from the free throw line.
Harris, a power forward, dished out three assists. He also stepped up on the defensive end with one steal and two blocks.
Meanwhile in Salt Lake City, the Dallas Mavericks dropped its fourth consecutive game to the Jazz, 120-101.
Utah has now won 11 straight games and has the league’s top mark at 15-4.
The Mavericks’ Josh Richardson had his struggles Friday night. He started and played 25 minutes for Dallas (8-11).
He scored six points, going 3-for-8 from the field. The former Vol also finished with two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
In Orlando, Jordan Bone played six minutes in the Magic’s, 116-90, loss to the Clippers at Amway Center. Bone missed his only two field goal attempts of the contest and had one 3-point attempt.
