The NFC West appeared to have a steady situation at quarterback just a season ago. Russell Wilson is a star in Seattle and both Jared Goff and Jimmy Garoppolo had led the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals were building around Kyler Murray after a great rookie season.
Today, there could be two new starting quarterbacks in the division for 2021.
Both the 49ers and Rams appear intent on moving on from Garappolo and Goff.
With both Deshaun Watson and Matthew Stafford expected to be on the move from the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions, the Rams and Niners appear to be in play.
The Rams have reportedly explored the possibility of trading for Stafford.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Stafford views the Rams as a “viable contender” in the trade market.
Sources: Matthew Stafford considers the Rams a viable contender in his trade market with the Lions. While it’s unclear what the Rams can do with Jared Goff’s long-term deal on the books, they’ve explored the possibilities with Stafford.

Stafford to San Francisco is a possibility as well. Some eye the 49ers as a possible destination for Watson.
Adding either of these fine players would change the dynamic in the division. Both the Rams and 49ers have talented rosters already. If their quarterback play were better, they both could be legitimate title contenders.
