The Super Bowl will be upon us before you know it and there is no shortage of history in the game when it comes to the Oklahoma Sooners.
Of the 54 Super Bowls played, at least one Sooner has played in 32 of those games. With 66 appearances by players, 34 of them have won at least one Super Bowl Championship ring. No player has started more Super Bowls than former Sooner and Dallas Cowboy Ralph Neely. He started three Super Bowl games and was on the roster for four games total. His teams were 2-2 overall.
Tony Casillas (Cowboys), Uwe von Schamann (Dolphins), Kenny King (Raiders), and Reggie Kinlaw (Raiders) each started two games apiece. The most recent winners were Blake Bell, Damien Williams, and James Winchester for the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s game. Winchester is the only former Sooner to return this year as the long snapper.
Take a journey through history as we revisit Super Bowl history with each former Sooner to make an appearance in the biggest football game of the season.
