LeBron’s third straight 20-point half helps Lakers stay close to 76ers

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had a monster half to keep the Lakers close with the best team in the East.

The Los Angeles Lakers got off to a slow start in Wednesday night’s highly-anticipated showdown against the Philadelphia 76ers. But thanks to a big first half from LeBron James, his third straight half scoring 20 points or more, the Lakers trailed the 76ers at halftime by only four points, 55-51.

James, for the second game in a row, delivered a monster first half for the Lakers when they needed it against an opponent who came out strong. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons both helped pace the Sixers to a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter but James, as well as 14 points from Davis, helped keep the Lakers close. Marc Gasol was also key in several areas, leading the Lakers in assists with three at half, including another nice backdoor pass to LeBron.

Despite the strong start for the 76ers, the Lakers remain in a very strong position to win their 11th consecutive road game.
