Advice and prediction

This is going to be a shootout, make not mistake about it. Brooklyn’s last game as a fluke — in the sense Durant and Irving both shot poorly. Their defense was on, as well, but that was also aided by the fact the Miami Heat were without some key players. Take the over here.

Durant, Irving and Harden were all under their scoring prop last time, though Harden was the only one who was efficient. The beard’s scoring prop is still too risky right now.

Durant and Irving are both solid candidates to hit the over, but the latter is a bit more compelling. As much as Durant can’t possibly be less efficient than he was on Monday, Irving averages more shots per game than anyone on the team — albeit one more than Durant (20.6 vs. 19.6). Point is: Irving is going to get his, especially after a rough shooting performance. Not to mention, the Hawks have a lot of offensive firepower.

Also, Irving scored 16 points on Monday. The last time he scored sub-20 points in a game this season, he came back and scored 30 the next contest.

One last note on the scoring props: Durant hit tonight’s over on BetMGM in both meetings with the Hawks this season. Harden wasn’t in town at that point, but Durant has still been scoring well with the beard in town. So, there’s good reason to take the over on either Durant or Irving — again, the latter is slightly safer if you’re not looking to get in on both.

Lastly, Monday was the first time Harden had single digit assists since joining the Nets. In what promises to be a high-scoring affair, that’s not likely to happen again.

Prediction: Hawks 130, Nets 125
