It didn’t take long for Texas’ new staff members to start pushing hard on the recruiting front.

Kyle Flood wasted no time in his efforts to bring offensive line help to Austin. After extending offers to the No. 1 and No. 2 offensive tackles in the 2022 class, Flood targeted a pair of teammates from Florida. One of which is the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Tyler Booker and teammate Aliou Bah were the targets of the new offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. The duo plays offensive tackle at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Either or both would be welcomed additions to the lineman room in Austin.

After securing a commit from Flower Mound kicker Bert Auburn, Jeff Banks turned his attention to the tight end group. The only offer in the 2022 recruiting class has been to Donovan Green of Dickinson. That was until Banks extended an offer to one of the top tight ends in the country. Holden Staes is committed to Penn State, but Banks is ready to go to battle and flip the talented tight end.

ESPN has Staes as the No. 1 tight end in the country. Penn State has been known to churn out quality players at the position, but Banks is hoping to do the same in Texas. He likely will not be the only target, but he is one that the team should swing for the fences to gain his commitment.

Next, we will look at each player’s profile.
