The Alabama Crimson Tide made a big jump in this week’s Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll, moving up eight spots to No. 8. Alabama is now tied with Virginia at No. 8.
Last week, Alabama traveled to Baton Rouge to play an LSU team that was one game out of first place in the SEC. The Crimson Tide responded by defeating the Tigers, 105-75, and led by as many as 40 points during that game.
It was a record-setting performance for Alabama, as it set a new SEC record with 23 3-pointers made.
The Crimson Tide returned to Tuscaloosa on Saturday and defeated a scrappy Mississippi State squad to improve to 8-0 in SEC play. Alabama has now won nine consecutive games.
The Tide have another challenge on their hands this week when they host Kentucky. Alabama won the previous matchup earlier this month.
At the top of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll, the top remains mostly the same. Gonzaga, Baylor and Villanova remain in the top three spots. Michigan moves up to No. 4, while Texas remains No. 5
