The Chicago Bears might not be competing in the NFC postseason race, but there was plenty to root for on Sunday as the Green Bay Packers hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a bid to Super Bowl LV.
Bears fans had plenty to celebrate as the Bucs defeated the Packers 31-26 to secure a unique home-field advantage for Super Bowl 55. While Green Bay appeared poised for a late rally, a questionable call by head coach Matt LaFleur to kick a field goal to trim their deficit to five points rather than try to tie the game on fourth-and-goal — with the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams and the No. 1 scoring offense in the NFL.
For the second straight season, the Packers have been defeated in the NFC Championship. Naturally, Bears fans had plenty to say (and celebrate) on Twitter.
favorite thing in football, watching the Bears win. second, watching the Packers lose!!! @ChicagoBears 🐻⬇️

Chicago sports culture is routing for the Packers to lose harder than you route for the Bears to win, because you are a realest.

Bears fans know we aren’t good right now, but we are grateful that once again, the Packers didn’t make it to the Super Bowl.

The Packers have had Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers from 1992 to 2020 and have two titles to show for it.

Aaron Rodgers has as many NFC titles as Rex Grossman 😂😂😂😂

So I hate the Packers with the burning heat of 10,000 suns, and because the Bears have sucked for 10 years, my REAL SuperBowl is whenever the Packers lose in the playoffs. Is it wrong to hate a team more than you love your own? Never thought I’d say it, but thank you Tom Brady! https://t.co/kBAq9jQM4R

You know what?? The bears beat the buccaneers but the packers lost twice to them… hahahahahahahahahah!!!!!
— Billy Meek (@billyisameek) January 25, 2021
The Packers losing the NFC championship is like the Bears losing in the first round of the playoffs. It’s pretty much a given, so stop acting surprised when it happens.

It’s kinda gratifying as a Bears fan, seeing the Packers do all that winning just to lose when it matters most and have a worst draft pick than us 😂

Celebration cigar!! Thanks TB12 for knocking out the Packers!!! pic.twitter.com/M8tbiQy3sc

Seeing the Packers lose at Lambeau Field is a close second to a Bears playoff win.

As a Bears fan i couldn't be more happier seeing the packers lose
Brady is the 🐐 he deserves another super bowl appearance— Julz (@Julz9511) January 25, 2021
Rodgers MVP? Doooon't caaare. PACKERs LOSE. HAHAHA. Lafleur's decision not to go for it on 4th & goal, down 8, with 2 minutes left — one of the dumbest things I've ever seen — came back to haunt them. Aggravating from a Cheesehead's point of view, beautiful from mine.

Aaron Rodgers should probably just go to the Bears and start a revenge tour against the Packers

@NFLonCBS The Packers can trade Rodgers to the Bears for all I care. He likes Soldier Field. Maybe he can get them to the Super Bowl because it isn’t happening again in Green Bay.

Packers losing or Bears winning is the same as the mac and cheese and the yams touchin on my plate.
My joy overflows

The QBs on the Chicago Bears roster have the same amount of Super Bowl wins as the QBs on the Green Bay Packers roster. #Bears #Packers

I wonder which quarterback the Packers are targeting in the draft this year.

You wanna know how a fan base is greedy? They askin for the firing of a coach even tho they made it to the NFC championship game lol try being a bears fan or literally any other fan that goes through hard times. The packers have literally never gone through hard times.
