Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has found a new way to remember his 2019 playoff performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
His new adidas shoes recall the night he scored 50-points and hit the game-winning shot over then-Thunder star Paul George to send the Blazers on to the second round of the playoffs. ESPN reporter Nick DePaula tweeted out a picture of the pair of shoes, which has the Oklahoma City team colors and includes the stat line from that Game 5 night outlined in blue and orange.
Lillard’s performance of 50 points, seven rebounds and six assists and culminated in the 37-foot stepback to beat the Thunder in the opening round.

It’s not a great memory for Oklahoma City fans. The shot not only ended the season, it was the final game George or Russell Westbrook would play in a Thunder uniform. Both were traded that offseason.
For the Blazers, that five-game series victory propelled them on a playoff run that reached the Western Conference Finals, where they got swept by the Golden State Warriors.
In the series against the Thunder, Damian Lillard averaged 33 points and shot 48.1% from 3 while attempting 10.8 shots from beyond the arc per game. None were bigger, obviously, than the one that put down the Thunder and ended with him waving goodbye.
It’s a solid troll job by Lillard, and the pictures were reported just a day before the Blazers and Thunder play each other on Monday night.
We’ll see if he debuts them for the matchup.
