Steph Curry has long been considered the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history, and on Saturday night, he took one more step toward securing the title of most career shots made from long distance.
During the second quarter of the Warriors’ contest against the Utah Jazz, Curry connected on his third 3-pointer of the contest, tying Reggie Miller for second one the all-time list. Curry would predictably go on to surpass Miller during the game’s third quarter. The historic shot came with 10:59 remaining in the period and, fittingly, was off of a Draymond Green assist.
With his fourth make of the evening, Curry moved into second on the all-time list with 2,561 made 3-pointers.
Although he has the record or most 3-pointers made in a season with 402, Curry still trails the all-time leader, Ray Allen.
Over the course of his legendary 18-year career, Allen connected on 2,973 3-point shots — far and away more than anyone else who was considered among the greatest.

When Curry surpassed Miller, it left the Warriors’ Most Valuable Player 412 3-pointers shy of Allen’s all-time mark. It’s a big number, but considering the fact that Curry has averaged 3.6 made 3-pointers per game over the course of his career, it’s safe to assume that he’ll eventually surpass Allen.
For now, Curry will have to settle with being second-best all-time, but odds are, his work is far from over.
