Mavericks vs. Spurs: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks

Our prediction and best bests for Friday’s Mavericks-Spurs game.

Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and the Dallas Mavericks visit San Antonio to face DeMar DeRozan and the Spurs on Friday night, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest.

The Spurs (8-7) are coming off a 22 point loss on the road against the Warriors, which followed a 21 point win over the Trail Blazers, and currently hold a half-game lead in the Southwest Division standings over Dallas. The Mavericks (7-7) snapped a three-game losing streak with an impressive road win over the Pacers, and Kristaps Porzingis had his best performance of the season with 27 points.

Advice and prediction

The Mavericks haven’t been playing with their full roster for what feels like an eternity, but if Kristaps Porzingis can continue his momentum and regain his old All-Star form, the Mavs become a different team. Despite all the absences, the Mavericks are playing exceptional defense – they rank second in the league in adjusted defensive rating – and I think they’ll cause problems for a fairly mediocre San Antonio offense.

I’ll take Mavericks -2.5, and also take a player prop on Porzingis to score over 20.5 points (-120). He’s been averaging 16.6 shot attempts per game since his return, so he should have plenty of opportunities to score on a defense that ranks 23rd in opponent points in the paint allowed.

Prediction: Mavericks 114, Spurs 106
