The Cincinnati Bengals surprised some by using the first pick of the second round in the 2020 NFL draft on Clemson wideout Tee Higgins.
All Higgins has done since is prove the Bengals right.
Higgins, who just turned 22 on January 18, put up 908 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie. His quick development and production helped him lead the team in receiving while making A.J. Green something of a non-factor.
All the more impressive, Higgins’ level of play never really dipped after Joe Burrow went down and he had to deal with a trio of quarterback changes.
Keep in mind he also almost broke a franchise record held by Cris Collinsworth before re-aggravating a hamstring injury while trying to play through the issue in the final game of the season.
But what a special season it was, as a new No. 85 has the look of a No. 1 wideout for a long time as he pairs with Burrow:
A rookie season to remember for @teehiggins5. He's just 22 & only getting better! 🎉
