The Philadelphia 76ers were set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night and they were all set to finish up their road trip, but then, they weren’t.
The game was called off about an hour and a half before the 7:00 p.m. EST tipoff due to contact tracing within the Sixers’ organization costing the team enough players to play the game. It does seem a bit sudden due to the fact that only four Philadelphia players were on the 5:30 injury report. That was Seth Curry and Vincent Poirier due to health and safety protocols and then Joel Embiid and Mike Scott due to knee injuries,
This now says that something bad happened on Saturday when they were taking on the Memphis Grizzlies. Either a positive test that has not been known yet or maybe an inconclusive test, but either way, something happened and now Philadelphia does not have eight players.
There is more contact tracing going on within the organization which will postpone tonight’s game #Sixers pic.twitter.com/xtKoO3oDcS
