Rob Gronkowski says ‘the freedom’ is the biggest difference between the Buccaneers and Patriots

OK then.

Rob Gronkowski seems to have the freedom he lacked when he played for the New England Patriots. Now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gronk was asked to compare Bruce Arians, the tight end’s current coach, and Bill Belichick, Gronk’s former coach.

“The freedom (in Tampa) — the freedom of just being yourself around the coaches,” Gronk said during a sit-down interview with NFL Network’s Willie McGinest, a former Patriots linebacker.

Gronk caused a stir when he told receiver Danny Amendola to “be free, be happy” when the receiver left New England for the Detroit Lions in 2018. Gronk is finally free in Tampa, and it seems he’s happy enough that he wants to play in 2021, even after retiring from the NFL for a season during 2019. A trade to Tampa has given his career new life.

The subliminal messaging is strong from Gronk.
