Now that the Los Angeles Rams’ season is officially over, teams are able to pursue Brandon Staley more aggressively for their head-coaching jobs. And the Los Angeles Chargers aren’t wasting any time in getting a second interview with the Rams defensive coordinator.
According to Tom Pelissero, Staley has a second interview with the Chargers on Sunday, this time in-person instead of over videoconference. Additionally, the Texans will interview Staley today, as well, though theirs will not be in-person.
The Eagles will wait their turn to interview Staley, flying him in on Monday for their first interview with him – that is, if the Chargers don’t hire him before then.
The #Chargers will interview #Rams DC Brandon Staley a second time today — in-person — for their head coaching job, per sources.
The #Texans also plan to speak with Staley today, and the #Eagles plan to fly him in Monday. But L.A., fittingly, gets the first shot.

It’s been reported that Bills OC Brian Daboll is the favorite to be the Chargers’ next head coach, but Staley seems to be very much in the running. The Chargers will have to wait until the Bills are eliminated to meet with Daboll in-person, too, so that’ll take at least another week.
Staley has only been with the Rams for one season, which is also his only experience as a defensive coordinator. But with the job he did leading Los Angeles to the No. 1-ranked defense, it’s no surprise that teams are lining up to hire him.
