Falcons hire Titans OC Arthur Smith as head coach

Eagles coaching search: Falcons hire Titans OC Arthur Smith

Another top Eagles candidate is off the board, as talented Titans offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, has been named the Atlanta Falcons head coach.

Smith interviewed with the Eagles on Thursday and was offered the Falcons job early on Friday afternoon.

After pondering the situation, Atlanta’s top target accepted the job offer.

The Titans ranked fourth in the league in scoring during the regular season, averaging 30.7 points per game under Smith, while Tennessee displayed an amazing balance of run and pass, finishing the regular season averaging 396.4 total yards per game, good for third in the NFL.

The Titans’ rushing attack posted 168.1 yards per game, second only to the Baltimore Ravens (191.9 yards) and Derrick Henry eclipsed 2,000 yards rushing as well.

Smith’s biggest intangible is his ability to get the most out of a quarterback and his work with Ryan Tannehill is a huge reason he’ll be heading to the AFC South.
