It’s been a while since we got to see Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Kemba Walker pound the rock on some hardwood, but he was back at it on Thursday at the Celtics first practice since a rash of COVID-19 diagnoses and contact tracing shut down the practice facility just after he was cleared.
While it isn’t clear when he will be able to return to the court in games that count, this is excellent progress, and well ahead of where some worried he might be by this time of the new year. He’s looking fluid and crisp in his movements with no signs of pain visible, and this Boston team is already on top of the East standings without his help so far this season.

Watch the video embedded above put together by the folks at CLNS, and try not to get too excited about the UConn product’s return.
There’s even a few glimpses at what guys who haven’t seen a lot of floor time have been up to, so it’s more than worth the watch.
