One of the Eagles’ potential head coaching candidates is off the board after Adam Schefter reported that Robert Saleh has accepted the Jets head coaching position.
Saleh has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal after spending the last four years as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator.
Prior to joining Kyle Shanahan’s staff, Saleh was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ linebackers coach from 2014 to 2016.
After taking over a defense that allowed both the most yards (406.4) and most points (30.0) per game prior to his arrival, San Francisco was one of the NFL’s best in 2019, finishing second in yards allowed (281.8) and eighth in points allowed (19.4) respectively.
The Eagles have already interviewed Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
