Now that the 2020 college football season is officially finished and settled, it is time to bring the circle of sports to completion and begin looking forward to next fall. For the Florida Gators, the succeeding campaign brings a great deal of uncertainty as the program loses a plethora of premier players to both the National Football League amateur draft and the transfer portal.
What is left behind is a mere shell of the team that was in the running for a College Football Playoff spot until the final game of the regular season, as well as boasting a pair of Heisman Trophy candidates in Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts. Those two names headline the players taking their talents elsewhere, with several others following in their footsteps.
However, Gators head coach Dan Mullen is not exactly left out in the cold heading into his fourth season at the helm of Florida football, scoring a few wins in the transfer portal — specifically, former five-star recruit Demarkcus Bowman who made his way over from the Clemson Tigers — as well as securing a top-10 recruiting crop that features some of the best prep talent from around the country.
With all of this in mind, we present an early look at every position in the Florida Gators’ football program and where each player stands.
