Welcome to a Thursday edition of Gators News and as the week begins to wind down, Gators sports are picking back up starting tonight when the women’s basketball team travels to Fayetteville to face the No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks (10-4, 1-3).
The Lady Gators (7-5, 0-4) are winless in four Southeastern Conference matchups so far this season — three against teams ranked in the top 15 — and it does not look to get much easier tonight starting at 8:30 p.m. EST. Sophomore guard Lavender Briggs continues her offensive onslaught against conference opponents, averaging 20.0 points per game while ranking No. 6 in the SEC in scoring.
Despite the Razorbacks’ top 25 ranking, they have only won one SEC game so far, which could bode well for Florida. However, the Gators will have to try and stop their high-octane offense which leads the SEC at 86.6 points per game average.

Tomorrow night, the gymnastics team will be back in action in the O’Connell Center against the Georgia Bulldogs to kick off a weekend full of Florida athletics, with events starting at 6:45 p.m. EST. The following two days feature both men’s and women’s basketball, plus the first 2021 match for the men’s tennis team on Saturday.
