Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady has been a popular candidate for head coach jobs this offseason. According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, next up he’ll be interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles for their recently-vacated position.
A couple days ago Philadelphia fired Doug Pederson, who won a Super Bowl in 2018 but had far less success after Frank Reich left for the Colts.
The Eagles finished the 2020 season 4-11-1 thanks to Pederson’s failures, another year of bad injury luck and a stunning regression from Carson Wentz, who was eventually benched for rookie Jalen Hurts. While Philly’s situation is not as enticing as other teams who are looking for coaches, Hurts makes it more interesting. He showed enticing potential in his four starts for the Eagles, not unlike Kyler Murray early on.
Brady has also interviewed with the New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans.
