Seahawks executive vice president/general manager John Schneider is staying in Seattle after all. Rumors had recently swirled that the Detroit Lions would be making a push to lure Schneider away from the Emerald City.
On Tuesday, however, Seattle announced that the Seahawks have signed Schneider to a contract extension through the 2027 NFL draft. Schneider is currently in his 11th season with Seattle.
“I am pleased to announce that we have extended the contract of general manager John Schneider through the 2027 draft,” Seahawks chair Jody Allen said via the press release. “For the last decade, John and head coach Pete Carroll have formed a tremendous partnership and the Seahawks have established a successful, unique, and truly winning culture respected throughout sports. I know we are all excited to see that continue.”
Coach Pete Carroll also signed a contract extension earlier this year and will remain in Seattle through the 2025 season.
