All signs point to Kyrie Irving’s absence extending further into January after a video showing the Nets point guard maskless at a party surfaced Monday night and drew the league’s attention on Tuesday. Multiple reports now indicate the Brooklyn Nets guard is under investigation by the NBA. While some say he could miss time, Marc Stein of the New York Times is also reporting Irving could be fined nearly half a million dollars for violating the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
As the league looks into the situation that could sideline Irving beyond the four games he’s missed due to personal reasons — including Tuesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets — the guard has been all NBA Twitter can talk about.

The Kyrie Irving situation continues to get worse and worse. Does he plan on ever returning to the team and if so is he all in or will he just decide to skip a block of games?

The Nets are 1-2 since Irving went on his “personal leave,” as Nets head coach Steve Nash phrased it. However, Kevin Durant was only available to play in one of those games due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
At least they fired Kenny Atkinson because he didn’t know how to coach stars.
