The Houston Texans are finally interviewing a hot coaching candidate that most other teams with coaching vacancies have already targeted.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Texans have officially requested an interview with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
Currently, Bieniemy is also getting the Chiefs ready to take on a Cleveland Browns wild-card team that upset the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Sunday. The Browns seek to do the same in Kansas City, but Bieniemy, who won a Super Bowl last year with the Chiefs, hopes to dispatch Cleveland — much like the Chiefs did to the Texans in the divisional playoffs last year, 51-31.
Houston essentially started its search over the past few days when GM Nick Caserio was hired. They previously interviewed Jim Caldwell and Marvin Lewis, and have requests in for David Culley (#Ravens) and Leslie Frazier (#Bills). Now, Eric Bieniemy. https://t.co/q2WDkhxCpq

Bieniemy is already a player favorite among Texans players, including quarterback Deshaun Watson and safety Justin Reid.
