Brandon Staley helped lead the Rams to a 30-20 win over the Seahawks on Saturday in what was a dominant defensive performance by Los Angeles, and one day after the victory, he was interviewing for two head coaching vacancies.
Sean McVay said that Staley interviewed with the Jets and Chargers on Sunday, each of which is searching for a new head coach. The Jets fired Adam Gase this year, while the Chargers moved on from Anthony Lynn.
Staley had those interviews lined up previously, so it’s not as if they just came together in the 24 hours after L.A.’s win. Because of COVID-19 protocols, both interviews were held over Zoom videoconference.
After talking to Staley, McVay said they seemed like enjoyable meetings, but Staley is now focused on game planning for the Packers.
Brandon Staley met with the Chargers and the Jets on Zoom today about their head coaching jobs, Sean McVay says: "Sounded like it was an enjoyable visit with both groups, and now his focus is on the Packers."

Staley is in his first year as a defensive coordinator, but his inexperience hasn’t scared teams away. He led the Rams to the No. 1-ranked scoring defense, as well as the top spot in yards allowed. They also finished second in sacks, first in passing yards allowed and third in third-down defense.
When you finish near the top in those categories, you’re going to get looks from other teams, no matter how inexperienced you might be.
