Sixers stats and highlights: Tyrese Maxey’s historic 39 points vs. Nuggets

We take a final look back at the terrific game put on by Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey against the Denver Nuggets.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a tough day on Saturday against the Denver Nuggets having only seven players due to the league’s health and safety protocols as well as other various injuries the team is dealing with. It was a predictable result as they lost by 12, but the rookie had himself an impressive day.

Playing under immense pressure, Tyrese Maxey put up an impressive stat line of 39 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals putting up a rookie stat line not seen in Sixers history since the days of Allen Iverson in 1997.

Maxey was smooth all day long showing off his floater game as well as his ability to knock down pull-up jumpers. In one of the tougher situations he will face in his basketball life, he stepped up and the team will need even more as they move forward.

The Sixers will hit the road for a quick game with the Atlanta Hawks on Monday where they expect to have Joel Embiid and Mike Scott return to the lineup which would be a huge help for their chances to get back in the win column following two straight losses.
