Kevin Durant did something Sunday no Net has done since 2011-12

Kevin Durant picked up where he left off offensively on Sunday when the Nets welcomed the OKC Thunder to Brooklyn.

Kevin Durant logged his third double-double in a Nets uniform on Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, continuing his streak of strong rebounding after saying he needed to adjust his approach on the glass following Brooklyn’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets back in December.

Brooklyn’s game against Oklahoma City also marked the sixth consecutive game that Durant has logged 25-plus points — scoring 29 against the Boston Celtics, 29 against the Hornets, 33 then 28 against the Hawks and 28 against the Washington Wizards. Durant’s streak is the longest stretch of consecutive 25-point performances by a Nets player since Deron Williams in 2011-12.

Durant finished with a season-high 36 points in the 129-116 loss after a three-game layoff, grabbing 11 rebounds while dishing out four assists. He also blocked a shot, but he did finish with four turnovers against his old team.

Durant and the Nets get back to work on Tuesday when the Denver Nuggets make the trip to Barclays Center.
