ESPN showed a graphic of Tom Brady and George Blanda at 43 years old, and NFL fans had so many jokes

These two pictures are pretty hilarious.

It’s fair to say Tom Brady and George Blanda, two of the oldest quarterbacks to play in the NFL, had different approaches to being professional football players.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is famous for his regimented diet and training regime, which involves hours of physical work (massage and exercises), careful meal planning and endless water chugging. Blanda, meanwhile, was famous for smoking cigarettes on the way to the locker room, in the locker room and even on the field. (In fact, he was at his worst in the NFL when he tried to quit smoking. (He also once said he didn’t bother reading defenses.)) Suffice it to say: it was a different era for the NFL.

On Sunday night, Brady eclipsed Blanda’s record as the oldest person to throw a touchdown pass in the playoffs. Brady, 43 years and 159 days old, still looks like a Hollywood movie star. Blanda, when he was 43 years and 108 days old, didn’t seem to have access to the fountain of youth.

After seeing the two men, side by side, people on Twitter made plenty of jokes about Brady’s TB12 diet.
