Kevin Durant probable, Kyrie Irving questionable for Thunder vs. Nets game

Brooklyn Nets F Kevin Durant was upgraded to probable while G Kyrie Irving was question ahead of the game against the OKC Thunder.

The Oklahoma City Thunder may get to see Kevin Durant in action on Sunday night.

The Brooklyn Nets star forward is probable for the matchup, according to NetsWire. Away from the team due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, he is on track to return to Barclays Center for the matchup, the team said Saturday.

Durant missed the last three games while quarantining after exposure to someone who tested positive for the coronavirus. Brooklyn went 2-1 without him.

The former Thunder MVP has looked incredible through six games for the Nets after missing all of last season due to an Achilles injury. He is averaging 28.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.8 assist per game while shooting 51.4% from the field and 45.5% from 3.

He hasn’t averaged 28.2 points per game over a full season since 2015-16, his final year with the Thunder, when he averaged that same number.

Durant has dominated in the nine games he has played against the Thunder since leaving, averaging 31.4 points per matchup. If he does suit up, this would be his first time facing the Thunder since November 2018, when he had 27 points and 14 rebounds in a 123-95 Oklahoma City victory.

Point guard Kyrie Irving was upgraded to questionable on Saturday. He has missed two games for personal reasons.

Over seven games this season, he is averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting 50.4% from the field and 42.6% from 3.

The Nets are 5-5 on the season.

Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
