The Philadelphia 76ers had to head to Brooklyn on the second night of a back-to-back and they were looking to head home and prepare for a matchup with the Denver Nuggets on Saturday afternoon.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have caught up to the Sixers as they received word that somebody within the organization tested positive for the virus. The team now has to remain in New York to complete contact tracing and go from there.
The player who tested positive was revealed to be guard Seth Curry who missed the game due to a sore left ankle. He was immediately isolated from the team and he then left the arena to be separated from the team.
Sixers are staying over in New York and will commence contact tracing in morning, sources said. https://t.co/OtHYHPKeog

This is the unfortunate part of the NBA playing in home markets and traveling this season. They aren’t staying in the bubble as they were in Orlando over the summer and the team will now have to follow the health and safety protocols to get back to playing again.
