Next weekend’s playoff game at Lambeau Field will have more fans in the stands.
The Green Bay Packers announced roughly 6,000 season-ticket holders will be invited to buy tickets to the NFC Divisional Round playoff game on either Jan. 16 or Jan.17.
The team is planning to arrange the fans in “socially distanced pods of two, four and six tickets throughout the stadium.” Team president Mark Murphy said the Packers are “confident we can safely add additional fans” after hosting several hundred front-line healthcare workers and first responders for each of the team’s final two regular-season games at Lambeau Field.
Only season-ticket holders who opted into the 2020 season will be eligible to buy tickets. The Packers will also invite more front-line healthcare workers and first responders to the playoff game.
Tickets will go on sale on Jan. 12. More information on the ticket-buying procedures for season-ticket holders can be found at Packers.com.
The Packers do not know their playoff opponent. The possibilities include the Washington Football Team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears.
Murphy said he hopes the added fans will add to the “atmosphere in the playoffs” at Lambeau Field.
