Rams activate Andrew Whitworth from IR, waive Natrez Patrick

The Rams have officially activated Andrew Whitworth, who’s expected to start against the Seahawks on Saturday.

Andrew Whitworth has completed the improbable, returning from a torn MCL and damaged PCL in less than two months. On Thursday, the Rams officially activated Whitworth from injured reserve, making him eligible to play against the Seahawks in Saturday’s playoff game.

Whitworth, 39, has been out since Week 10 when he injured his knee against Seattle. He was replaced by Joe Noteboom, who will now revert to a backup role at both left tackle and guard.

As long as there are no setbacks for Whitworth prior to kickoff, he will start at left tackle, protecting either Jared Goff or John Wolford in the opening round against the playoffs.
