Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith, continues to be one of the most talked about names when it comes to teams looking for a new head coach.
On Monday, we learned that all six of the teams currently looking for a head coach — the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons — have either already requested an interview with Smith or plan on doing so, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Now, Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson, who was a guest on the “Robby and Rexrode” show on 102.5 The Game in Nashville, is reporting that Smith is viewed as the “No. 1 candidate in the field” by two general managers he has spoken to.
Per @CharlesRobinson on Arthur Smith, two GMs told Charles that Smith is the No. 1 candidate in the field, over Brian Daboll. One said: "Scheme versatility is a big deal." Cited Kevin Stefanski as an Arthur Smith comparison.

This doesn’t really come as much of a surprise, as Smith has been calling the plays for the No. 4 offense in the NFL this season — and Tennessee’s offense has been playing at an elite level since Week 7 of last season.
Should Smith move on after the 2020 campaign, he would be the second offensive coordinator that has been poached from the Titans in recent years. Former offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur was hired by the Green Bay Packers to be their head coach in 2019 after just one season in Nashville.
