Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson’s season may be over, but it doesn’t mean he can’t get recognition for one of his final performances.
The three-time Pro Bowler earned a nomination for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for Week 17.
In the 41-38 loss to the Tennessee Titans, Watson completed 28 passes on 39 attempts for 365 yards, three touchdowns, and interception, and compiled a 115.9 passer rating. The performance also handed him the NFL passing title and the Texans’ new single-season passing yards record.
Other nominees for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week include Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who completed 26-of-41 for 399 yards, four touchdowns, and a 117.8 rating against the Atlanta Falcons.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 28 passes on 40 attempts for 405 yards, three touchdowns, and posted a 127.6 rating against the Detroit Lions.
If Watson wins the award, FedEx will honor him by working with Direct Relief to deliver emergency medical backpacks in the greater Houston area.
Voting is open until Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. CT at NFL.com/FedEx. Fans can also vote on Twitter at the official NFL Twitter account and on the NFL Mobile app.
