The Los Angeles Rams put their playoff hopes in the hands of John Wolford on Sunday afternoon, needing a win or Bears loss to make the postseason. It was not only Wolford’s first NFL start, but it was the first time he ever took a single snap, too.
After throwing an interception on his first career pass, Wolford settled in and put together a really good performance in place of Jared Goff. He became the first quarterback in league history to throw for 200-plus yards and rush for 50-plus yards in his NFL debut, which puts into perspective how well he played against the Cardinals.
He helped lead the Rams to an 18-7 victory and punched their ticket to the playoffs, looking especially good on third down. If you missed Wolford’s debut, check out his best plays in the video below.
