The Tennessee Titans have officially punched their ticket to the postseason without lifting a finger thanks to the Buffalo Bills crushing the Miami Dolphins, 56-26, in the early slate of Week 17 games on Sunday.
After staking themselves to a 28-6 lead at halftime, the Bills pulled their starters and still cruised the rest of the way, as Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa struggled mightily to get anything going for Miami.
For the Titans, this is their second straight trip to the playoffs, and the third in the last four seasons.
While clinching a playoff spot is all well and good for the Titans, they still have unfinished business to take care of, as Tennessee needs to lock up the AFC South in order to secure a home playoff game.
The Titans can do just that with a victory over the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. If Tennessee loses, it would need the Indianapolis Colts to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars also to win the division.
Should either of those scenarios unfold, the Titans will win their first division title since the 2008 campaign and will meet the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round. Tennessee would play the Bills if they don’t win the division.
Tennessee and Houston kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT.
