One of the biggest questions in Ann Arbor, dating back to last year, has been what’s Jim Harbaugh’s future with the Michigan football program?
He and athletic Warde Manuel were discussing a contract extension — Harbaugh has one year left on his current deal — before the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench into things. It got even more complicated when the Wolverines went 2-4 in 2020.
But, Harbaugh had been telling recruits he intended on staying in Ann Arbor, and it became more evident that was likely to be the case when Michigan fired defensive coordinator Don Brown in December.
Now, it appears a resolution is nearly at hand, with The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reporting that Harbaugh’s new deal looks close to being finalized.

Whatever your opinion is of what Harbaugh has or hasn’t done in his six years helming the program, at least the uncertainty of this past year will come to a close.
