The NBA announced on Wednesday that the league had gone about a week without a positive coronavirus test.
None of the 495 players who underwent tests since Dec. 24 received a positive result, according to a press release from the league. It was unclear if this included the tests taken on the day the report was released.
Over the two weeks prior, the NBA had announced a total of three positive tests. Before that, there was a week with eight positives and a week with 48 positives.
The only game this season that has been postponed due to positive coronavirus tests and contact tracing measures was the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets game that had been scheduled to take place on Dec. 23.
Since, the Thunder have played three games and have not reported any positive COVID-19 cases.
While there isn’t an NBA bubble now like there was in July through the end of the postseason, the downward trajectory over the past four weeks is encouraging for the NBA.
Players who test positive are isolated until they are cleared.
