Kick off between the Florida Gators and the Oklahoma Sooners in the Cotton Bowl is nearly here and the fans are frothing for their final taste of Florida football until next fall. After a grueling season that presented numerous hurdles, including a global pandemic, the Gators hope to finally cross the finish line on a winning note.

Unfortunately, numerous players on both sides โ€” more notably on Florida’s side, however โ€” will miss this game due to a combination opt-outs for those with NFL aspirations, injuries, and at least one player lost to COVID-19 protocols. That said, the fans should savor their last look at Heisman Trophy finalist Kyle Trask before he moves on to the pros.

Regardless of the outcome, the Gator Nation sticks together through all sorts of weather, and even if a short-handed UF squad is given trouble by the Sooners tonight it still represents the conclusion of a season that at one point was uncertain would even happen.
