The Boston Celtics wing duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum weren’t enough to push a poorly-defending Celtics past a motivated Indiana Pacers Sunday night, with Boston falling 108 – 107 to the Pacers after a difficult 3 from the Duke product failed to fall in the game’s closing seconds.
But that doesn’t mean these two were sticks in the mud throughout the game — the pair combined for 43 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Efficiency was again an issue from deep for the two, with Tatum going 3-of-9 from beyond the arc, and Brown taking and missing just one trey. If the team is going to stay above .500 in starting point guard Kemba Walker’s absence, they’ll need to address that.
There’s also the issue of running the league’s worst defense, but that doesn’t just fall on these two’s shoulders.
