What’s next for Michigan State Football in the transfer portal

Michigan State has been active in the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2020 season. Look at what’s next for MSU in the portal

Mel Tucker has made it no secret that he intends to use the transfer portal to enhance the Michigan State roster. With new transfer rules and the nature of the NCAA transfer portal, it is a tool that is a necessity in building a strong roster.

Michigan State has used the portal four times already since the conclusion of the season. The Spartans added quarterback Anthony Russo from Temple, running back Harold Joiner from Auburn, offensive tackle Jarrett Horst from Arkansas State and defensive end Drew Jordan from Duke.

With four new members already added through the portal, there is still room to add another 1 or 2 players before winter conditioning starts in January. It is expected that the staff is going to use these last couple of spots to add much-needed depth and experience to the roster.

Let us take a look at some of the positions we could see the staff address in the coming weeks with the last two spots.
