While driving through the paint early in the third quarter of Brooklyn’s Sunday night game against the Hornets, Spencer Dinwiddie bumped into Bismack Biyombo as he kicked the ball out to Kevin Durant along the perimeter. As he bumped into Charlotte’s center, Dinwiddie appeared to land awkwardly on his right leg and fell to the ground.
After the play, Dinwiddie got up and walked off the court under his own power, forcing the Nets to call a timeout. Dinwiddie left for the locker room and was ruled out by the team due to a right knee strain.
As a result of his early departure, Dinwiddie was only able to log 15 minutes of action. In his abbreviated appearance, the Nets guard scored five points, grabbed four rebounds and logged three assists — and he did not turn the ball over once. Dinwiddie went 2-for-4 from the floor, 1-for-2 from beyond the arc.
